Looking through TED again and found a new TED Talk on “The Real Relationship between your Age and your Chance of Success” by Albert-Laszlo Barabasi. If you talk to enough Accelerators and VCs, you get told that data is everything. The interesting thing about start-ups and funding is that funding goes overwhelmingly to the young, but the older entrepreneur is twice as likely to have a successful exit. So why do investors overwhelmingly invest in younger founders? I guess it’s “do as I say, not as I do” in the startup funding world. No real surprises, just more work for us. I highly recommend the TED Talk, it’s very interesting:
